Northfield's Amazing Geographical History

Northfield is one of the best places in the world to see amazing geology” according to Greenfield Community College Prof. Emeritus Richard Little. This program will reveal the exciting stories preserved in Northfield’s rocks and landscape. Discover how ancient mountains were created, and how the Connecticut River carved floodplain terraces along the river course.

Play: The Golden Bird

Three brothers compete on a quest to capture the golden bird, a golden horse, and a princess in a golden castle. Which brother will win this classic French fairy tale presented by NCCA’s award winning Children’s Theatre? Come to the show and see what pans out.

Terrific Tuesdays: Duo Prism

Time: 1:00 pm-2:00 pm

Each summer, the Walden School in Dublin, New Hampshire sponsors a free concert at the Keene Public Library.  Comprised of pianist Rieko Aizawa and violinist Jesse Mills, Duo Prism is a dynamic ensemble. Based in New York City, the duo collaborates with contemporary composers in addition to their exploration of the vast traditional repertoire.
Terrific Tuesdays takes place each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. during our summer reading program.  Each week there is a different special event designed for kids that are approximately aged five and up.  Well-behaved younger children are welcome to attend with an adult.

Tuesday Tournaments: Naruto

Time: 3:00 pm-5:00 pm

Repeats weekly with a different game. You can sign up for our tournament at 3:00 p.m.. Tournament play begins at 3:30 p.m.


Wrinkle In Time

Repeats weekly. It was a dark and stormy night ....
So begins the classic story, A Wrinkle in Time, one of the most significant novels of our time. The book was written in 1962. Many extraordinary things have changed since then, but the book remains a favorite.
This summer make time to relive Madeleine L'Engle's Newbery-winning timeless classic by attending this weekly read-aloud session. You don't have to come to each session because what happened the week before will be summarized each week. 

Parent/Child Story, Puppet, and Play Time

Time: 10:00 am-10:30 am
Place: Keene Public Library, Youth Program Room, Keene, NH

Ages: up to 3 1/2

Repeats weekly. Michelle Brooks from The Waldorf Nursery-Kindergarten program will offer a special Parent/Child story program for young children through age 3 1/2. Siblings are welcome.
Michelle received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College. In 2006 Michelle completed the Waldorf Early Childhood Education program at Sunbridge College in New York.
