From flyer: The Union Congregational Church of Peterborough is sponsoring a two-week summer musical theater camp for children entering grades 2-5 in the fall. This is an opportunity for children to sing, dance, act and learn valuable skills in a theater setting. The church’s mission is to provide a quality theater experience for children, including teamwork, respect, encouragement, and fun in a welcoming environment. Shows will be selected based on a positive message of family and community values. Families from all walks of life and religious beliefs are welcome to participate.
This year’s production is “Oh, Jonah” by Allen Pote and Carole McCann. This is the story of the biblical character, Jonah, responsibility, listening for God’s command and accepting people who are different from us. It’s a fantastic show filled with lots of singing, dancing and fun!
Rehearsals will be held Monday-Friday, beginning August 6, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. with two shows being produced on Friday, August 17 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, August 18, at 4:00 pm. The striking of the set will occur immediately following the final show.
Children entering Grades 2-5 in the fall of 2012 are invited to register by filling out the form below and returning it to the producer, Mary Ann Fleming, 54 Carriage Hill Road, Hancock, NH 03449.
There will be a registration fee of $40, maximum $60 for two or more siblings, to offset the cost of the production. The cast will be limited to 20 children on a first-come, first served basis. Should this registration fee impose a hardship on any family, scholarships will be available. Checks may be made out to Union Congregational Church-Summer Theater Camp. Questions regarding the camp may be directed to Mary Ann Fleming at 525-4764 or flemma@comcast.net.
