Mystery Writing Camp

Learn about the perils and pleasures of plotting a mystery! Whether you're writing about wizards, robots, students, or vampires, every good story starts with a mystery. This interactive workshop will help young writers to develop their own mystery writing skills. You'll learn and practice planting clues and how to develop plot, characters, and setting.
This three-part workshop series is for young people entering grades 5 through 12 only!
You can use this workshop as preparation for our OWN THE NIGHT Mystery Writing Contest. Entries will be due on Friday August 10. Stay tuned for contest details!
The workshop series takes place on Wednesday July 25, Thursday July 26, and Friday July 27.

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND JR. tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. Free Summer Music Series for Kids

Take a walk around the world with Tellin’ Tales. Using masks and movement, this play showcases folk stories from Appalachian, Spanish, Cherokee and Japanese cultures. Why do roosters crow every morning? How did medicine come to be? What are the consequences of greed? Find the answers in this imaginative story theatre style presentation. Written by April A. Friday Afternoon at the Tavern is a series of summer programs for children and families to participate in an activity, game, or craft that was part of life when the Wyman Family ran a Tavern in Keene. Friday Afternoon at the Tavern is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. during July and August, with no reservations required. Children ages 8 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
