Loose-Leaf Revival: Performance Poetry

The Loose-Leaf Revival is a lively presentation of spoken word by an emerging young New England poet, GennaRose Nethercott. Comprised of a series of fresh original works, the pieces explore themes of myth, love, and the challenges of being human. Ranging from the lyrical to the edgy, the performance features theatrical monologues, readings, humor, and even a ukulele ballad or two to add to the festivities.
Following the show a writing workshop will be offered, in which participants will have the chance to explore their own voices and stories. Through a combination of engaging writing exercises, prompts, and discussion, members of the workshop will have the opportunity to develop their own creations and play around with translating written word to performance.
The evening of poetry is recommended for an audience of adults
and young people at least 14-years-old. The evening includes a 45
minute performance and 45 minute workshop (1 hour 30 minutes total).

Like all library programs, the class is free of charge! Yoga mats are available for use during the class or you can bring your own.

Tickets are $6 at the door. However, pre-schools and daycare centers are advised to call ahead to reserve an area of seats together. Otherwise, seating is first come, first serve.
