The Windham Foundation of Grafton, Vt will host an event entitled “What
it’s Like to Run for President,” featuring former Vermont Governor
Howard Dean and his former aide Kate O’Connor on Thursday, July 19. The
talk is free and open to the public. 6 pm, White Church, Main Street,
Grafton. A book signing featuring O’Connor’s book: “DO THE IMPOSSIBLE:
My Crash Course On Presidential Politics Inside The Howard Dean
Campaign,” immediately follows.
Open Play: Games @ Your Library

is just that. It is all gaming! And, gaming of any kind; whether it is
board games, card games, video games, big games, role-playing games, or
any other kind of game you can imagine, we'll play it. Each week,
we'll provide a different variety of games for you to play; we welcome
you to bring in your own games to share with the group. Throughout the
series, we will have a number of gaming tournaments, so keep your eyes
peeled and your ears open, because you might be our next grand champion
gamer!
Summer Tango
Repeats weekly. Come out to the library and learn the Argentine Tango with local instructor Judith Schwartz.
In this series, students will be introduced to basic concepts of
Argentine Tango, including posture & alignment, techniques of
walking, lead & follow, connection and partnership, fundamental
tango vocabulary, improvisation, history of the dance and music, and
social dance etiquette here and abroad.
Each week, the combined class and practice sessions will focus on
introducing and reviewing fundamental skills such as 'lead and follow,”
connecting to your partner and to the music, navigating on the dance
floor, and building vocabulary for your own personal 'tango
conversation.' There will be additional practice time for all dancers
at the end of the evening.
No experience in any dance form is necessary for beginners, and no partner is needed. Come alone, or bring your friends. Please wear comfortable clothes and clean dance shoes or heavy socks for easy pivoting on the floor.

Keene Painting Group
Repeats weekly. For many decades, artists living in
New England have come together in
small social groups to paint and enjoy the art world. The level of
ability is wide ranging and includes virtually all media, oil, acrylic,
watercolor, pastels and more. The painting groups generally paint
together in church basements, Town Halls, and lodge halls throughout the
rural communities. The groups vary in size and an average group size
might be about twenty artists with seven to twelve artists painting
together on a given day. Some group members are just starting out but
others have been painting for decades. Some are self-taught and some
have a formal art education.

From Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, July 22. The Hillsborough Balloon Festival and Fair has evolved into a major 4 day event over the years. The thrill of riding in a Hot Air Balloon is not the only entertainment however, there is an Artist's Fair, Hometown Parade on Sunday and the Fireworks display on Saturday night is one of the premier firework displays in all of New Hampshire. July 19, 20th, & 21st. This year, attendees will have access to more programming than ever. Eagle Square, a new entertainment venue, will feature a daily singing competition and nightly music. Main Street north of Park Street, formerly home to the main stage, will now welcome the Concord Arts Market. Free family fun activities have grown substantially, as diverse entertainment for all generations comes to the State House Lawn for extended hours. The Homegrown Music Stage in Bicentennial Square will produce a steady stream of music for your listening pleasure, beginning daily in the early afternoon, and running through 10 p.m. The intersection of Pleasant and Main Streets is the venue for community programming from dance, roller derby and martial arts demonstrations, to the inaugural fire truck pull benefit and badge ball tournament on Saturday. Local food, wine and beer tent on South Main Street. Red River Theatre outdoor movie, car show and vintage motorcycle show.
