Terrific Tuesdays: Creatures of the Night

You don't have to stay up late to learn about elusive nocturnal animals  Today you have a chance to meet some animal visitors from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center.  See some creatures of the night up-close and find out about specific adaptations that make these animals so well-suited for life at night.
Terrific Tuesdays takes place each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. during our summer reading program.  Each week there is a different special event designed for kids that are approximately aged five and up.  Well-behaved younger children are welcome to attend with an adult.

Tuesday Tournaments: Soul Caliber V

Wrinkle In Time

Repeats weekly. It was a dark and stormy night ....
So begins the classic story, A Wrinkle in Time, one of the most significant novels of our time. The book was written in 1962. Many extraordinary things have changed since then, but the book remains a favorite.
This summer make time to relive Madeleine L'Engle's Newbery-winning timeless classic by attending this weekly read-aloud session. You don't have to come to each session because what happened the week before will be summarized each week. 

Parent/Child Story, Puppet, and Play Time

Repeats weekly. Michelle Brooks from The Waldorf Nursery-Kindergarten program will offer a special Parent/Child story program for young children through age 3 1/2. Siblings are welcome.
Michelle received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College. In 2006 Michelle completed the Waldorf Early Childhood Education program at Sunbridge College in New York.

NCCA’s Children’s Theatre presents another Hans Christian Andersen story about a tiny girl and her adventures with her short appearance and toads and moles that want to marry her. Will she successfully avoid their intentions before falling in love with a prince just her size?

Bugs! Everywhere Bugs!

The Nurse is IN!

The Nurse Is In clinic is one of the free wellness programs offered by Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services, a United Way agency. Four times a year a nurse from HCS Services visits the Hancock Town Library. Have your blood pressure checked or ask the nurse about high blood pressure, cholesterol, and other health concerns. Free and open to the public.

Photography Club

Concert: Yankee Brass Band

Yankee Brass is a recreation of a full size (24 members) mid-19th Century brass band playing period music on original instruments, in period costumes. The band consists of many professional players from around the country as well as music educators and serious amateurs from VT, NH, CT, and Maine. The concert will include description and commentary on music, instruments and the influence of town bands on the culture of New England during that period. Please bring lawn chairs. In the event of rain the concert will be held at the Redfern Arts Center at Keene State College.

Michaels Craft Camp
