Tuesday, February 7th Events

A Film and Discussion

Time: 6:30 PM
Place: Antioch University, Community Room, Keene, NH
Price: Free
Ages: Older kids

People all around the world are becoming more concerned about our increasingly dysfunctional global economy, but what is the alternative? For this February's Transition Tuesday event, we will watch and discuss the inspiring documentary The Economics of Happiness, as well as hear from some local folks working hard to create a more vibrant and resilient local economy.

While we'll look at the problem of governments and big business continuing to promote globalization and the consolidation of corporate power, we will mainly focus on how innovative local people are coming together all around the world to re-build more human scale, ecological economies based on a new paradigm--an economics of localization. The evening will also hearing from a local panel that will include Michael Faber, general manager of the new Monadnock Community Market, and Jen Risley, a staff member of the Hannah Grimes Center and the Monadnock Buy Local business association.

Free and open to the public.
