The Brattleboro contra dance is a twice monthly dance party featuring fantastic live music, excellent calling, and a lively group of friendly dancers. We feature talented performers from Brattleboro and the surrounding areas, where we are fortunate to live amongst some of the best dance musicians and callers in the country. We welcome new and experienced dancers and dancers of all ages. No experience is necessary, all dances are taught and called, and you don’t need to come with a partner. We hope to see you there!

The dance takes place in the Stone Church at the corner of Main and Grove Streets, just north of the post office in downtown Brattleboro, VT. The Stone Church features a lovely wooden dance floor and excellent acoustics in a convenient location.
The dance starts at 7:15 with a workshop for beginners, and continues with dancing for all from 7:30 to 10:30 PM. Admission is $10 ($7 students/seniors/low income). Beginners are welcome; all the dances will be taught. You don’t need to come with a partner; other friendly dancers will dance with you.

If you have questions about the dance or want more information you can email Ethan or call 802-257-9234.
We welcome musicians to hang out and play tunes together at a slow, informal jam session before every dance. All instruments and skill levels are welcome starting at 5:30 PM and going until around 6:30.
