Place: Brooks Memorial Library, Brattleboro, VT (about 19 miles from Keene)

In this collection Another Bad-Dog Book: Tales of Life, Love, and Neurotic Human Behavior of twenty-eight essays, Joni B. Cole reveals a mastery at mingling low moments with high comedy; and social awkwardness with social observation. At once insecure and narcissistic, loving and wanting to be loved, Ms. Cole reveals (and revels in) what it means to be human, in a way that will make readers laugh and think at the same time.

A 2011 Pushcart-Prize nominee, Ms. Cole is the creator of the three-volume “This Day” series, including Water Cooler Diaries: Women across America Share Their Day at Work (“both fascinating and eye-opening,”Publisher’s Weekly). A popular speaker and instructor at writing conferences around the country, she is also the author of Toxic Feedback: Helping Writers Survive and Thrive. She lives in Vermont with her husband, two daughters, aloof cat, and devoted dog (who really isn’t all that bad!).
