Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum is pleased to announce that the 13th Annual Intertribal Powwow will host a drum competition for the first time.

The powwow begins on July 14 at 10 a.m. at the Mount Kearsarge Indian Museum and runs to July 15 at 4 p.m.

Two host drums will supply music for the weekend and other Native American drums are invited to enter the drum competition.

Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum’s 13th Annual Intertribal Powwow welcomes the entire community to spend the weekend with activities for the whole family.
“Most people don’t realize that the event is about more than competitions.  It’s really a way for Native American participants to socialize with one another.  Non-native visitors get the chance to learn about new cultures through music, dance, arts, crafts, and food,” says the museum’s Executive Director Lynn Clark.

Admission is $8.50 for adults and $6.50 for children with discounts for families, students, and seniors.  Museum members are admitted free. Those who become members at the Powwow will receive free admission as well.

10th Annual Florediem Daylily Festival

Time: 10:00 am-4:00 pm
Place: Florediem Flower Farm, 313 Hill Rd., Alstead, NH
Price: Free
Ages: All

Beautiful Flowers and Art join forces as Florediem Gardens and Walpole artisans come together in an event that is sure to please the eye. The viewing is priceless but the event is free.

Stroll through our gardens at their most beautiful! Bring a picnic, the lemonade and iced tea is free. Over 500 varieties of daylilies will enchant you. There is seating for elders under our tent.

Florediem Flower Farm is located in a picturesque valley in southern New Hampshire, close to the Connecticut River. The gardens are set among the hayfields and woodlands of an 1813 farmstead. These fabulous gardens display over 500 different varieties of daylilies in almost every color from the palest of pastels to the brightest of reds, oranges and yellows. While Florediem Farm is primarily a daylily nursery, they also provide hostas, perennials, and seasonal cut flowers for bouquets and special occasions.

The Walpole Artisans will be showcasing their locally handmade Fine Art and Crafts at Florediem this year, available for perusal and purchase, on Saturday, July 14th, from 10am-4pm. Tents and tables will be onsite featuring a fine selection of paintings, photography, glass, jewelry, vintage art, wearables, photography, woodworking, and more, favoring floral motifs. This is the first collaboration of The Walpole Artisans and Florediem Flower Farm, and if successful, should prove to be a popular annual event!

This year the Florediem Daylily Festival is a great opportunity to leisurely walk through these magnificent gardens while they are at their most beautiful. Have questions about color, shade vs. sun, early vs. late? No problem, there are always knowledgeable daylily growers to help you make decisions about any daylily purchases. After you make your floral choices, peruse the Fine Arts and Crafts of The Walpole Artisans, and relax with a picnic lunch or a glass of Florediem Farm’s ice tea or lemonade, while your selections are dug for you. You are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic and spend some time enjoying the property. What a great opportunity to find some beautiful flowers to enhance the beauty outside your home and the fine craftsmenship of the Walpole Artisans to enhance the beauty inside your home. You could also get some of your Holiday/Event shopping done early! Find it all at the 10th Annual Florediem Daylily Festival.
