Ever wondered how fish can climb a ladder? Find out what it takes to
get fish up a river with a dam in the way at this Fish Ladder Walk and
Talk.
Matthew Cole is a Community Relations Advisor with TransCanada, the
owner and operator of the Bellows Falls fish ladder and the
hydroelectric facility. He has worked at the U.S. East Region Power
facilities since 1981 and has lived in the Deerfield River valley all
his life. He is an expert on the hydroelectric facility and the fish
ladder. Participants will have ample time for questions.
The Bellows Falls Fish Ladder Visitor Center is run by The Nature
Museum at Grafton, thanks to a grant from TransCanada Corporation. For

Participants will meet at the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder Visitor
Center on Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, next to the post office. This
event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
