Vacation Theatre Camp

The Keene Public Library is offering an exciting theatre camp for children ages 9 to 12 during April school vacation.   For the first time ever members of Keene's resident theatre company, The Edge Ensemble, will be offering a spring theatre camp!  Dakota Benedetto and Scott Rodenhauser will create a safe, fun, and supportive place to learn about the basics of theatre.  Camp participants will learn to express themselves more effectively by participating in theatre games and other cool activities.  No theatre experience is necessary to attend this camp.  All you need is a willingness to do something new and different.  This is an exciting opportunity for any youth ages 9 to 12 who want to have fun during their spring break!  Camp dates and hours are April 16 - 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Join Susie Faber from the Harris Center for a morning ramble at McCabe Forest. Bring your baby and/or your toddler for this morning walk, looking for signs of spring. Come get a breath of fresh air as we search out the first wildflowers of spring, listen for the early frogs of summer, and spy on the birds returning from their wintering grounds. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at The Grapevine in Antrim. Ends at 11:30 a.m. Call 588-2620 to register. $5 per child, all adults free. If you need a baby backpack, The Grapevine has extras! "Finding Home" - A Recital Featuring Emily  Jaworski, Mezzo Soprano

Mezzo-Soprano Emily Jaworski is establishing a reputation for excellence in performances across New England. She is a passionate advocate of art songs and can frequently be seen in recital with Calvin Herst at the piano. Her love of research, dedication to musical details and commitment to text leads to unique and captivating programs. Jaworski and Herst have been honored with numerous awards for their collaborations. They have been semi-finalists at the Washington International Competition in 2010, were the winners of the New England region of the Artist Award Competition sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing in 2008, and runners-up of the same competition in 2010.

Ms. Jaworski can also be seen gracing the operatic stage and is known for her engaging portrayals of a wide range of characters. She was most recently seen as Dorabella in Cosi fan Tutte, Idamante in Idomeneo and Aloes in Chabrier's L'Etoile.

Drepung Gomang Monks

From April 17-22 we will welcome Monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India. They will be creating a sand mandala while they are here for those six days. The Opening Ceremony will be at 10am on April 17th and the Closing Ceremony will be at 4pm on April 22nd. Our hours will be 9-5 Wednesday through Sunday that week. Come enjoy this unique meditative process.
