This film is a heartwarming adventure transporting moviegoers into the lush rainforests of Borneo with world-renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas, and across the rugged Kenyan savannah with celebrated elephant authority Dame Daphne Sheldrick, as they and their teams rescue, rehabilitate and return these incredible animals back to the wild.

Zentangle Workshop

Time: 7:00 pm-9:00 pm
Place: Peterborough Town Library, Peterborough, NH (about 19 miles from Keene)
Price: Free
Ages: n/a

On Wednesday, May 30, Susanne Binnie, artist and teacher from Hollis, NH, will lead a Zentangle workshop at the Peterborough Town Library, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the library’s meeting hall.

A Zentangle is essentially a structured doodle. It is, however, doodling with the intention of producing a finished piece of art. It is not necessary to be an artist to draw a Zentangle pattern, as there is no ‘correct’ way to complete a piece. Part of the excitement is that as a piece is being developed it may take on a life of its own, and the final product may be quite unlike the original idea!

The process of producing a Zentangle is fun and relaxing; indeed, many people find it relieves stress. Zentangle may be defined as a series of pen and ink strokes made on a piece of paper measuring about four inches square, often with unexpected results.

Ms. Binnie’s workshop is free, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Peterborough Town Library, but it is limited to ten participants, and advance signup is required. To sign up, please visit or telephone the library. 603-924-8040
