Book Arts: Make Star Books at Your Library

Time: 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Place: Keene Public Library
Price: Free
Ages: Teens and adults

Spend an afternoon making books that can be used as decorations or as gifts.
This workshop is for teens and adults. Materials are provided. There is no cost and all workshops are open to the public; however, registration is required. Registration here

Wildlife Encounters with Granite State Zoo

Time: 1:30 PM-2:30 PM
Place: Brookline Town Hall, Upper meeting room, 1 Main St., Brookline, NH (about 44 miles from Keene)
Price: $9.50 (see info below)
Ages: Geared toward 6+, but all are welcome

Offering Wildlife Encounters with Granite State Zoo to the homeschool community! They will have a different program each month with different animals centered around a teaching theme. This month's program will be Session #1 - Introduction to Biodiversity. The presenter will also address the roles of Zoo's & Sanctuaries in biodiversity preservation.

Each program will last approx. 1 hour and will include 6 animals presented by professional educators, all of which hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Zoology, Wildlife Ecology, etc. This will be a program with some hands on opportunities. (Please be aware that some animals can not be touched due to state regulations, ie. arctic foxes, etc.) If you would like to see a list of some of the animals that might show up, please visit:

COST: $9.50 per child/per program. You do not have to commit to all programs and are only paying for the program being offered in December. Payment information below.

AGES: This program will be an hour in length and geared to ages 6 and up. Children aged 4 and older are considered paying guests. Younger children and siblings are welcome to join us; if younger guests lose interest before the presentation is over, there is a small area outside the hall and an additional area downstairs where they may be more comfortable.

PAYMENT: Payment must be received by 5:00 PM December 8, 2011. Availability is on a first come basis. We must have 25 paying children to hold this event. Payment is non-refundable unless the class is canceled for any reason.

Christmas Sing-Along

Time: 3:30 PM
Place: Jaffrey Public Library, Jaffrey, NH (about 17 miles from Keene)
Price: Free
Ages: All

The children's room of the Jaffrey Public Library will be presenting a Christmas sing-along on Tuesday, December 13, at 3:30 PM. Musician Amy Conley will be coming with her guitar, drums, beautiful voice, and a great repertoire of Christmas songs, and all ages are welcome to come and join in on the fun of singing in the holiday season. Cider and Christmas cookies will be served. This program is free, and no registration is required. For more information call the Children's Room at 532-7301.
